Thank you, 2021

For Veejays.com 2022 has started… kind of serenely. We had a cozy little get-together with the team around a fire basket in December. And for the rest just a handful of projects going on right now, because of the lockdown in many places. Let’s use this pause to look back on the happy moments of 2021. Things will get busy again soon enough!

As most live stages were closed most of the time, we found exciting ways to repurpose our video skills. But there was also some good old partying going on, still…

VR & apps

Together with choreographer Peter Leung (House of Makers), we created an interactive VR dance performance: ‘

’. It was featured as a special COVID proof experience in venues like Paradiso Amsterdam, and even at a VR festival in Bali. Primary video makers were Noralie and Henque.

For Gemeente Haarlemmermeer, we created a VR experience ‘YouChoose’ to show teenagers how carrying a knife can destroy their lives. We filmed alternative timelines of a conflict from a 1st person perspective, and added interactive options to experience the consequences of choices one makes. It’s now being implemented in schools all around the country. A project with i.a. Michelle van Mil and Sjush (Veemee) , VJ Bikkel and Robot Kittens.

This fall , voice coach and film actress Ilse Heus won the most prestigious award in the field of speech therapy for her app ‘VoiceBuddy’. Daan Nolen created the software, and invited our video team consisting of VJ Flirt, Lars and Domi to produce hundreds of voice exercises.
